Industrial sites visits from September to December 2021

Since the start of the academic year 2021/2022, several industrial sites visits took place. The aim of these site visits and meetings with start-ups and companies is to expose the students to their socio-economic environment and thus develop their interest for industry-related projects and meet the socio-economic actors.

Intake 1:
During the third semester in AgroParisTech, the students discovered:
 the Génopôle in Évry-Courcouronnes
 the Institut Jean-Pierre BOURGIN in Versailles
 the Institut Pasteur in Paris

A 2 day-trip in Toulouse was organised in December:
 Pierre Fabre: production of plan biologically active compounds
 Toulouse Biotechnology Institute.

Intake 2:
During the Induction Week, students visited the European Center of Biotechnology and Bioeconomy (CEBB) where Prof. Florent Allais presented the activity of the AgroParisTech URD AgroBiotechnologies Industrielles.

In November, students visited Cristanol and made an online visit of the sugar refinery Cristal Union in Pomacle-Bazancourt within the frame of the course-unit « Plant components and Biorefining » in URCA. It was the opportunity for the students to discover two industries:
 Cristanol: production of 1G biofuel (bioethanol) from wheat and sugar beet;
 Cristal Union: production of sucrose syrup from sugar beet.
